The Next Big Star?

 by Alex Munoz

After winning the Golden boot and leading Colombia to the Quarter Finals of the World Cup, Real Madrid signed the talented James Rodriguez, 23, for a six-year $84.3 million contract. The player was presented on Tuesday July 22nd at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid’s home field. James proved to be very crucial up front and will now be along with Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, and with the best player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo. This upcoming La Liga season should be very interesting. Madrid’s arch-rivals Barcelona signed England’s top scorer Luis Suarez and will also have a strong attacking group which include Neymar, Iniesta, Suarez, and the great Lionel Messi. It’s a new season. Anything can happen. These two powerhouses will go all out as if it was a war. But when war occurs, only one team will come out on top.

As an All- Conference 1st team player as a freshman, I have the dream of being like all these amazing players. Seeing how Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, and now James Rodriguez grew up to become some of the greatest players to live, inspires me to keep trying harder. I want to achieve awards like the Balon D’Or, Golden Boot, and even break records that are very hard to even reach. As a young kid, I’ve always wanted to go pro. Soccer is the sport that helps me clear my mind. With all the support that I have from my family, friends, and even teachers at school, I know that I can achieve my dream. I can become the greatest. I will be the greatest. I dedicate my life to soccer and I plan on doing that for the rest of my life.
